Azero was born in Vina del Mar, Chile, in 1989. The band had five members initially; Jaime Scalpello (Vocals), Mauricio Urzua (Keyboards), Juan Andres “Jote” Anderson (Lead Guitar), Jorge “Coke” Aldayus (Drums), and Rene “Rana” Mori (Bass). The band was ready to play after many months of practice and trying in developing a great sound to play covers of different bands. But something unusual was about to happen. Jaime, with his brother Pablo Scalpello, who played guitar, and Mauricio, made a trio to play more efficiently.
